Pre-school, Primary and Secondary Education

Education at this level is provided by Devon County Council, Torbay Council, Plymouth City Council and the private sector, and information is grouped under these headings below. However, general searches and information across Devon (and nationally) can be obtained by searching on the DirectGov Schoolfinder site, or the Up My Street site. Both include summary information of schools for the state and private sector and both link through to relevant Ofsed reports. Ofsted (the Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills) assesses the quality of all schools in Britain, and their reports provide impartial statistics on the quality of each school - they can be searched directly here: Ofsted Inspection Reports.
