After working in Derbyshire and then London, I decided to move to Devon with my wife and young child to find a better quality of life. That was over 15 years ago.
We found that although pay is less, so is property, and the standard of living is higher – and you really can’t put a price on that.
I’d visited Devon a few times on holiday before deciding to move. It offers a unique environment; friendly people who see Devon as ‘their’ county, as something to be proud of. Towns and villages here have a real sense of community.
But for me, the best thing about living here is being so close to both the moors and the sea. I really feel we have room to breathe.
Move to Devon, and take the opportunity to change your perspective on what matters in your life.
