Where to live

Devon is the third largest county in England and has a population of over one million people. The Campaign to Protect Rural England ranked Devon as the fifth most tranquil place to live in the UK. Devon has much to offer potential residents with the varied choice of coastal, urban or rural locations.

Exeter and Plymouth are two of Devon's property hotspots, and are easily accessible by air, road and rail. Exeter with its big city atmosphere, low crime rate, high quality of life and thriving arts scene is consistently rated as one of the best places to live in the UK. Plymouth is the largest city in the region, combining the vibrancy of a modern city with the heritage of a historic port.

Outside of the two cities there are many wonderful towns and villages where you could also choose to live. Take a look at the guide page to find out more about some of these locations.
